Mom wants to wake me up at six in the morning.

She says the light is dim and the air is clean,

like icy lemonade and it is tasty.

 

But this is way too early.

My bed is still warm and smells like sweet vanilla ice cream.

Why can’t I sleep till noon, when the sun pours in like honey?

It reminds me of waving golden wheat and butter when melting.

Makes me want to cream it with icy sugar until it gets fluffy.

 

I choose to not wake up early

Not when I’m having sweet dreams,

Not when I’m savoring the sweet kisses night fairies sent to me.
